PLAYING AROUND, GIRLS?

When it comes to playing around (which of course is my leisure!), I am obliged to warn my fellow females: BEWARE! TIME DOES FLY! Sad but true, ladies, we, unlike men, are not privileged to spend as much time at will to play around with our early lives.

For lads, coming of age doesn’t necessarily mean that they must start leading ‘responsible’ lives (standards may vary in accordance with local custom and social norms). Sure, fussy surroundings will encourage all sorts of establishment -good, steady job, a house to settle in, a nice girl to marry, little babies to raise-, but whether lads are stupid (or smart; depending on your perspective) enough to nod and finally succumb or not, it is for them to decide. They might not wish domestic affairs to thwart the prime of their lives, -not so much when they have all the money and all the possibilities. Fine. Keep being stupid (or smart; it depends, really) till they well pass their forties or fifties. Fine. Perhaps the ages will have left traces on them when they finally wish to settle down. Fine. They can still find pretty girls –money does provide things- who will bear their children. Or if this is about searching for soul mates or finding the perfect spouses, well, the male members of the society definitely posses a considerable length of time for a thorough choosing. And while at it, why not enjoy it? Life is good.

Try and apply the same rule to the female members of our society? Sorry, you can’t. Biologically speaking, this whole business of child-bearing, -which to some is the very essence of marriage and life in general- has its deadline. Over thirties, procreation will be hampered by their own XX-chromosomes. Girls might crave to suck the marrow of Life, to lark about, to play around, but they can’t be stupid (or smart; again, your decision) like that forever. Nature will find its way; it won’t care whether the ones by their selves are the long-searched perfect matches or mere toyboys. Even if some do have the cheek to go on the frivolous, reckless lives, an old lady of fifties and a handsome lad of twenties must make a scene (perhaps money can’t buy all things after all; or perhaps you could put the blame on our wonderful, gender-biased society, ha ha).

So what am I attempting to say?

I’m not saying that it is unfair. Men and women are different and we must accept and respect it. Women struggle all the way to deputize a better -manlike, sometimes- role in the society; that is true. Yet, ladies, please don’t be intoxicated as you pursue the equality to whatever men have and do. Lads play around; let them. They can. YOU can as well, but still there are confining repercussions, and you SHOULD know.

Hence if you feel like playing around, girls, halt for a moment and decide your priorities first. Then live on and be content.
