PERFECT (Pt.2)

(An Afterword for the previous)

***

The search for perfection within yourself would sometimes urge you to abandon your easy-going nature. I reckon some people might not find it very inviting.

Personally, I have the least objection to it. As long as it doesn’t hurt anyone (including yourself), what’s so bad about trying to be perfect?

I believe the search for perfection within yourself is the very essence of loving. In Coelho’s terminology, “Love is the force that transforms and improves. ..Because when we love, we always strive to be better than we are.” (from “The Alchemist”).

However, doubtless, perfection belongs to God only.

The great sufi Jalaluddin Ar-Rum pleaded that the Soul longed to become “reflections of God’s Grace”. How can it be when we take Life so recklessly?

Those who search for perfection within theirselves are NOT mentally-troubled narcissists nor incurable freaks, but the ones who love God.

Amen. ^_^

Speaking of “perfect”, Tiessa and I used to tell this joke to cover up our rooted laziness, back there in the good old days:

“If ‘practice makes perfect’ and ‘nobody’s perfect’, why practice at all?”.

And so we skipped homeworks and exercises.. ^_^
